Proper Installation, Aim Adjustment, and System Setup
Replacing the assembly is only part of the process. Proper beam aim remains a critical part of the job, along with function verification and, on some vehicles, module setup, programming, or calibration. As a dedicated lighting facility, we use professional equipment, including digital aiming equipment, to verify correct headlight alignment after installation.
We install complete lighting assemblies across a wide range of vehicle types, including older systems that may also be upgraded for improved performance and appearance.
WHAT WE INSTALL
OEM Replacement Assemblies
Factory-correct replacement of original equipment lighting assemblies while preserving vehicle-specific functions such as adaptive systems, leveling motors, and integrated control modules where applicable.
Aftermarket Lighting Assemblies
Installation of approved aftermarket headlight and taillight assemblies with verification of structural fitment, sealing integrity, and electrical compatibility.
Performance & Appearance Upgrades
Installation of upgraded lighting assemblies including LED, HID, and sequential turn signal systems with appropriate electrical integration and load management.
SYSTEM EVALUATION PRIOR TO INSTALLATION
Before installation, the vehicle platform is evaluated for:
- Lighting configuration
- Adaptive / AFS system compatibility
- Daytime running light integration
- CANBUS communication requirements
- Control module configuration needs
- Wiring modifications if applicable
This evaluation ensures the selected assembly integrates properly with the vehicle’s electrical and optical systems.
CALIBRATION & SYSTEM PROGRAMMING
Headlight installation requires optical alignment and, in many vehicles,
electronic configuration to restore proper operation.
Optical Aim Adjustment
Beam alignment is critical for visibility and compliance. Following installation, headlights are calibrated using professional aiming
equipment to ensure correct vertical and horizontal output.
Module Programming & Coding
Modern lighting systems may require control module initialization, adaptive system reset, or software coding to enable full functionality.
Calibration and programming requirements vary by vehicle platform and are evaluated during consultation.
When required, these procedures are performed as separate services.
INSTALLATION PROCESS
Each installation includes:
- Controlled removal of existing assembly
- Structural mounting verification
- Seal and moisture protection inspection
- Electrical connection and system integration
- Functional verification of all lighting modes
- Preparation for required calibration or programming procedures
FACILITY-BASED SERVICE
All work is performed at our Costa Mesa facility in a controlled environment equipped for optical calibration, electrical integration, and module programming.
Vivid Headlight operates as a lighting-only facility, allowing focused evaluation and precise installation procedures.
WHEN ASSEMBLY REPLACEMENT IS APPROPRIATE
Assembly replacement may be recommended when:
- Structural damage is present
- Mounting tabs are compromised beyond repair
- Internal moisture has affected components
- Reflector or projector degradation impacts output
- Electrical failure cannot be isolated to a subcomponent
When repair or refurbishment is viable, that option is discussed prior to replacement.
