Moisture buildup inside headlights can cause fogging, discoloration, and electrical malfunctions. Our moisture removal process restores clarity and functionality. We first examine and locate the cause of leak which can be one or more of the following.
- Bad seal where the headlight lens meets the housing (bucket)
In this case the process is very much like lens replacement service. Once the lens is separated from the bucket. the old factory butyl removed and the ridge thoroughly cleaned until there is nothing left but bare plastic. If the same lens is used to reseal the proce3ss is repeated on the edges of the lens. We then reseal using fresh butyl, ensuring a tight waterproof seal

- Broken tabs which can create opening to the housing
In this case the broken area is repaired using plastic weld. Which creates a bond as powerful as it original state. Repairing any opening that may let moisture into the housing.
- Cracks or holes in the housing
In this case Plastic weld is used to repair the opening. We can even fabricate missing parts to ensure perfect seal.
- Clogged or damaged vents
A headlight vent is a small but essential component that helps regulate temperature and moisture inside the headlight assembly. There are multiple different types of vents. Some are just a hole with media or type of prefiltration that decays, and crumbles creating congestion that allows for moisture build up. In case that the media is gone in older headlights. Bugs can make a home in the warm headlight. We custom cut special media and can repair damages to the plastic vent for a proper air flow.
